Our Sacred Art

All the sacred art on these pages were designed and sculpted using a CAD-CAM* system called CNC Routing.

What is CNC Routing?

The CNC stands for Computer Numerically Controlled.  The process  begins with the design using computer-based software. Once the design is completed, the wood is placed on the CNC router table.  This requires a high level of knowledge and skill to sculpt the wood choosing the best layout, the correct depths and routers to be used.  Many times adjustments need to be made as the creation progresses because what is designed on the computer does not always turn out the same way on the CNC router table. So, adjustments are often required to make the piece turn out well.  After the artwork is carved, it is then finished in a manner that best reveals the unique dimensional aspects of each work.

All-in-all, it takes many hours to design, sculpt and finish one piece of art.
